Oilers score three goals in the final period to take 2-1 series lead

The Edmonton Oilers defeated the Dallas Stars 4-2 in Game 3 of the Western Conference Final at Rogers Place on Monday night. Connor McDavid had two goals and an assist for the Oilers, who now lead the series 2-1.

The Stars opened the scoring in the first period when Roope Hintz beat Oilers goaltender Mike Smith with a wrist shot. The Oilers tied the game in the second period on a goal by Evan Bouchard, but Dallas regained the lead in the third period on a goal by Jamie Benn.

The Oilers then scored three unanswered goals in the final period to take the win. McDavid tied the game with a power-play goal at 5:01 of the third period, and Leon Draisaitl gave the Oilers the lead with a goal at 10:23. McDavid added an empty-net goal with 1:06 remaining in the game to seal the victory.

Smith made 28 saves for the Oilers, while Jake Oettinger made 23 saves for the Stars. The two teams will face off again in Game 4 of the series on Wednesday night in Edmonton.
